Dish Italian Meatball and Cheese Pizza Bake

  • Frozen meatballs make this casserole extra quick to put together.

Ingredients

Batter

  • 1-3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 envelope yeast, rapid or quick rise
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup very warm water (120° to 130°F)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Topping

  • 8 to 10 oz (about 18 to 20) small meatballs, frozen, thawed
  • 3/4 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 2 cup (8 ounces) shredded mozzarella & provolone cheese blend
  • 1 tsp Italian Seasoning Blend

Directions

  1. Mix batter ingredients in a pre-sprayed 9-½-inch deep dish pie plate.
  2. Top dough with meatballs.
  3. Firmly push meatballs into batter.
  4. Pour pizza sauce over meatballs and sprinkle with garlic, cheese and seasoning.
  5. Bake by placing in a COLD oven; set temperature to 350°F.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes or until done.

Tips

Proceed as directed above.

If desired, batter may be mixed in a separate bowl.
